Marqeta partners with Afterpay in AUS and New Zealand

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Afterpay to help power its in-store digital card solution in Australia and New Zealand. This launch will represent our first live program in New Zealand and will support Afterpay’s expansion of its innovative in-store virtual card capabilities in the region.

Afterpay is transforming the way people pay by giving shoppers the ability to receive products immediately and pay in four installments over a short period of time. The service is free and helps consumers spend money responsibly without having to incur interest or extended debt. It will use Marqeta’s tokenization capabilities to allow cards to be instantly issued and provisioned into a mobile wallet and used at physical retail stores.
