Marqeta welcomes Simon Khalaf as Chief Product Officer

We’re excited to welcome Simon Khalaf as our new Chief Product Officer and a key member of our executive leadership team. Simon will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and delivery of our products to our growing customer base. He joins us from Twilio, where he was the Senior Vice President of their core communication products, including Messaging, Voice, Video, and Flex, Twilio’s fully programmable Contact Center.

Simon joins us at a time of continued growth and investment in our product development. As payments become more digital and embedded into consumer and business applications, modern card issuing will enable the scalable and configurable payments services that end-users expect. Simon’s deep experience as a product leader and his proven track record show his ability to scale high-growth products and developer-focused platforms.

Prior to Twilio, Simon led Yahoo’s, and later Verizon’s, media products which each had over a billion monthly users. Khalaf joined Yahoo through the acquisition of Flurry Inc, a leader and innovator in mobile analytics and advertising, where he was president and CEO. Prior to Flurry, Khalaf held executive leadership positions at Novell, Volera, Worldtalk, and JustOn.
