Marqeta on Built In’s Best Places to Work Lists
We’re thrilled to share that we were named a winner in Built In’s 2023 Best Places to Work Awards. We earned a place on four of the award program’s lists, including #1 in San Francisco Best Midsize Places to Work, #2 in San Francisco Best Places to Work, #5 in U.S. Best Midsize Places to Work, and #8 in U.S. Best Places to Work. It’s an honor to be recognized as a great place to work in our Bay Area hometown as well as nationally.
The annual awards program includes companies of all sizes, from startups to enterprises, and honors both remote-first employers as well as companies in large tech markets across the U.S. Built In determines the winners of Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits, DE&I, and other people-first cultural offerings.
Over the last year, Marqeta has continued to invest in our people and culture while emphasizing the need for a people-centric approach to the workplace during these inconsistent economic times. In early 2022, we rolled out our Flexible First policy, enabling U.S.-based Marqetans to work from wherever they work best and became a primarily distributed company, with 58% of our employees working remotely. We continued our commitment to wellness in the workplace and DE&I with initiatives such as reimbursement of certain travel expenses for employees and their companions of choice who need to travel outside of their state to obtain reproductive care and the provision of backup child and elder care through Bright Horizon. We look forward to continuing to support our people in 2023 and beyond. We look forward to continuing these efforts in 2023.
