Senior/Product Marketing Manager

Position Summary

Please note: We are only considering applicants who have payments/fintech industry experience.

Marqeta is looking for a Senior/Product Marketing Manager with a passion for creating inspiring product and solution messaging and shaping and evangelizing great products. 

The successful candidate comes from a payment or digital banking background and is smart, ambitious, and experienced in storytelling, creating product content, and understanding customer’s needs and requirements. 

You will work cross-functionally to drive unified messaging to position Marqeta in two of our six industry segments: Online Travel and Retail, Expense Management

Disbursements (Insurance and Incentives), On Demand Services, Lending, and Digital banking. You will work closely with the rest of the marketing team and your vertical specific sales teams as well as the product and customer success and delivery teams to create the go-to-market strategy for your segment and will champion for your industry’s product capability needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Solution Marketing
    • Solution Messaging: Define your vertical messaging, key benefits, market differentiation, customer value, and the solution positioning for your verticals.
    • Content Creation: Build out the persona and profiles of your buyers, influencer, and decision makers in your segment. Partner with marketing, sales development, and content team to create compelling product content such as white papers, webinars, website copy, data sheets, demos, blog posts that will inspire your buyers, communicate our value proposition, and differentiate our products effectively.
  • Industry Expertise and Evangelism: Become a thought leader in your segment and leverage your knowledge of Marqeta products and use cases to evangelize the product internally and across external channels. 
  • Connect Technology to Customer Value: 
    • Truly understand the value of the products and solutions you market and articulate how the technology solves business problems in an effective way.
    • Work closely with product, engineering, sales and customer success/delivery. Understand the customer needs of your segment as well as competitor products in the segment, and use those findings to evangelize and contribute to GTM and product strategy and roadmap. 
  • Sales Enablement: Work with sales and ABM to create collateral including sales decks, solution briefs, presentations/videos, demo scripts, and battle cards to move deals through to close.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in the payments/fintech industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing positioning and messaging for products that serve multiple use cases and personas.
  • Prior enablement of a sales organization. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
