## Overview

Site update release notes cover changes to the Marqeta documentation site itself that affect the whole site, such as changes to its information architecture (the way content is organized and how you navigate to it), to its visual design and branding, and to site-wide features such as the Docs AI chatbot.

These release notes don't cover changes to the content of a single product, guide, or API reference page.
For updates to Marqeta products and their documentation, see the product release notes in the **Release Notes** tab:

**Information architecture**

## Core API reference split by endpoint

**Date:** October 16, 2026

Marqeta split the [Core API reference](https://www.marqeta.com/docs/core-api/introduction.md) into separate pages for each endpoint, and added a page for each object.
Each endpoint now has its own page, which makes the reference easier to navigate and makes it easier to find what you're looking for.

## Documentation site information architecture enhancements

**Date:** August 2026

Marqeta has reorganized the documentation site to make navigation more intuitive.
The structure of the site has changed, but all existing content remains available in its new location.

In the first round of changes, release notes and card network certifications moved to their own tabs in the top navigation bar.
The Core API and DiVA API references now live in the **API Reference** tab in the top navigation bar; use the drop-down menu to switch between them.

## New landing pages for APIs

**Date:** April 2021

Marqeta added overviews of the documentation that helps you use Marqeta services.
For example, see [Cards](https://www.marqeta.com/docs/developer-guides/cards-landing-page.md).

## New documentation home page

**Date:** March 2021

Marqeta's developer documentation now has a central landing page called [Home](https://www.marqeta.com/docs/index.md) that provides an overview of all available content and directs you to pertinent resources in fewer clicks.
The home page makes it easier to find the content you are looking for, such as guides, API reference pages, SDKs, and the API status.

**Design and branding**

## Documentation site rebrand

**Date:** October 1, 2026

Marqeta rebranded the documentation site to match the new brand of the [Marqeta.com](https://www.marqeta.com) website.
The rebrand applies to every page of the site.

## Enhanced code blocks with syntax highlighting

**Date:** May 2022

The code block component used to display code examples throughout all collections of the Marqeta platform documentation has been enhanced with more meaningful syntax highlighting that better reflects the language of the code used in the example.
The language name, such as `bash`, `JSON`, or `cURL`, now appears in the code block header.
For a longer code example that has been truncated, the number of hidden lines is displayed, so you can decide whether to load the entire example.

## New look for Marqeta Docs

**Date:** December 2020

The documentation site underwent a top-to-bottom design update that aligns it with Marqeta's aesthetic, as seen in the Marqeta Dashboard and elsewhere.
The new look and feel includes design components, colors, fonts, and other elements.
The site's content and organization remained unchanged.

**Site features**

## RSS feeds for release notes

**Date:** October 2026

Marqeta has added RSS feed options for all release notes pages, so you can follow new release notes in your RSS reader instead of checking the documentation.
Each release notes page has its own feed.
To subscribe, copy the feed URL shown at the top of the page, which is the page URL followed by `rss.xml`, and add it to your RSS reader.
