Switch themes without reloading the page with updateTheme()

Version: 2.2.0Release date: 2026-10-23The new window.marqeta.updateTheme() method switches the active theme after the page has loaded, without a reload. For example, use it to let cardholders switch between light and dark mode. The new theme applies to every UX Toolkit component on the page. To load the latest copy of a theme that you re-uploaded under the same name, pass { force: true } as the second argument. For more information, see Switching themes after bootstrap.

Generate access tokens with a card token

When you generate a UX Toolkit OAuth access token, you can now send card_token as an alternative to user_token. A card_token limits the returned access token to that card, while a user_token grants access to all of the user’s cards. Send one or the other, but not both.
