This spring, Marqeta is going on tour. We’ve teamed up with Fintech Talents for an epic innovation journey, taking in the iconic European cities of Paris, Stockholm and Berlin.

Across three key events between April 17 and 21, we’ll be talking about buy now, pay later, embedded finance, open banking, digital payments, super apps plus much more.

Payments in Paris

First stop is the City of Lights, which is also globally renowned as the centre of France’s burgeoning fintech scene. We’ll be descending on The Peninsula hotel, Paris, for an action-packed day of exploring all-things payments technology.

Themes set to be covered include open banking, next generation embedded finance and the evolution of ecommerce. We’re honoured to be headline sponsor, and our International MD Jeff Parker is scheduled to talk in a session focussed on Bankable’s innovation success. View the agenda here.

Sustainable finance in Stockholm

Two days later, we head to Stockholm, Sweden, where innovators will gather at The Grand Hotel to talk about the cashless society, cryptocurrencies and the Nordics’ approach to sustainable finance, among other topics.

Here Jeff will give his thoughts on buy now, pay later, exploring ways to overcome fraud, prepare for regulation and customer UX – apt given that Sweden is home to one of the world’s most successful buy now, pay later propositions and Marqeta partner, Klarna.

We’re also looking forward to hearing from other speakers, including Meta’s Janne Elvelid, who will be talking about banking in the metaverse, and assistant professor Jan Starmans, from the Stockholm School of Economics, who is set to discuss ways in which finance can meet decarbonisation objectives. The full agenda is available here.

Blockchain in Berlin

The final leg of the 2023 Fintech Talents Road Trip is Europe’s Blockchain capital, Berlin, and the Westin Grand Hotel.

Another packed agenda will see speakers look at Berlin’s ‘B-hub’ credentials, which are being built on official support for the development of blockchain technology. There will also be discussions on a digital euro and super apps, with Marqeta’s Jeff Parker kicking off the day with Stephan Haslebacher, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Moss. They’ll be chatting about how digital payment adoption will accelerate this year.
