As a Senior Manager, Program Management and Transformation you will spearhead strategic automation and AI implementation efforts, driving measurable process optimization across multiple teams. You'll be our operational efficiency expert, conducting rigorous analysis, developing process innovations, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to enable scalable growth through technology. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Operational Excellence and Transformation and serves as a catalyst for operational advancement in our AI-forward environment.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States. We’d love for you to join us!

What You’ll Do

Process Transformation & Automation

  • Lead complex automation and AI initiatives that enhance operational performance and reduce manual intervention
  • Manage the transitions of multiple operational processes to streamlined automated systems that leverage AI
  • Champion the adoption of automation and AI technologies across operational processes
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies, redundancies, and unnecessary manual steps

Technology Implementation

  • Lead efforts to implement new technologies and platforms that improve operational efficiency and quality
  • Leverage Marqeta's expanding AI capabilities to develop innovative solutions for operational challenges
  • Partner with key stakeholders to design technical solutions that enable scalable growth

Program Management

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure program effectiveness and communicate outcomes to executive leadership
  • Create and standardize program documentation, reporting templates, and decision-making frameworks
  • Develop change management strategies that address cultural, process, and organizational impacts
  • Implement structured frameworks that proactively identify timelines and dependencies
  • Guide teams through transformational change with effective change management methodologies

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in program/project management, business transformation, or operations excellence
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives in complex organizations
  • Strong experience in automating manual processes and deploying AI technologies
  • Proven project management experience using agile methodologies
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones and cultural contexts
  • Demonstrated track record working with vendors to improve operations
  • Expertise in program governance frameworks, change management methodologies, and process improvement techniques
  • History of successfully delivering high-impact, large-scale transformation programs with measurable outcomes
  • Experience managing and influencing stakeholders across multiple organizational levels, including executive leadership
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth environment and manage through ambiguity

Nice-To-Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification 
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $143,700 - $179,600
  • Premium: $155,500 - $194,400
  • Premium Plus: $169,000- $211,300
