During the past 12 months, one of Marqeta Europe’s objectives has been to facilitate thought leadership among innovators across the fintech and banking landscape. It’s been an exciting journey involving some of the brightest minds from businesses old and new, large and small.
Central to this endeavour is the API Chronicles project, a series of livestream panel discussions and blogs covering topics ranging from cryptocurrencies to financial inclusion and greenfield banking. In an attempt to bottle this wealth of knowledge and insights, we’ve created The Archive.
It pulls together in one accessible place all of the API Chronicles livestreams broadcast so far, allowing you to watch or listen at your leisure.
Why API Chronicles?
The core theme of API Chronicles is the technology that is enabling modern payments products such as digital wallets, buy now, pay later cards, online expense management tools and real-time data and transaction controls. And with Marqeta’s modern issuer processor platform built on and offered via an API developer environment, we wanted to explore how others were using technology to deliver innovations in their own particular space.
Each livestream speaker has given their perspectives on how API architecture is delivering best-in-class financial solutions in different parts of Europe and beyond.
This was summed up neatly by Steve Naudé, head of product at Wise, in our inaugural API Chronicles event, when he said: “We now have a single API that partners can access everything that we offer globally – they can use that to build their own end customer experiences to solve their own customer problems, in their own way.” “They don’t have to be beholden to the design or the flow that we’ve come up with. And that’s only really possible through the API that we’ve built and have shared with the partners, who can then use it to build pretty incredible things on top of.”
