Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Web Developer to help build and maintain our award winning company site www.marqeta.com. The right person for this role has experience developing lightning fast web pages with modern tools like React, NextJS, Contentful, Netlify and Material UI. You will work closely with our creative team to plan, build and deploy web pages across our website. You will build pages that not only look amazing but perform at world class levels. You can implement quality responsive designs in a fast paced environment. This will be an integral part of our rapidly growing Web Squad team within Marketing.

What You'll Do
- Develop modern cutting edge web experiences, interactions and animations that explain complex payment products in simple visual stories to inspire users while solving for efficient resource usage and performance
- Build responsive web functionality across all supported browsers & devices
- Use an API driven headless CMS, like Contentful, and create content models while integrating it on the front-end with GraphQL
- Build modular and reusable front-end components in React with a focus on content management (Material UI, Tailwind, etc)
- Work closely with designers to review designs, build pages to spec, ensure detailed QA across all breakpoints/devices and execute on schedule
- Building new web pages with a performance first mindset making sure core web vitals are healthy
- Always be interested in the latest development best practices & technology with an always learning mindset
- Bring new operational & QA process ideas to the table to increase efficiency & quality
- Thrives working in a culture of constant learning, testing, improvement & rapid growth
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of web development experience with a focus on scalable headless CMS systems using React/NextJS or similar front-end frameworks
- Thorough knowledge of front-end languages & frameworks such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, PHP, CSS & CI/CD pipeline/deployment architecture
- Experience building reusable components with a front-end framework like NextJS
- Proven success optimizing pages for web performance (core web vitals), load times, SEO & conversion rates
- Has worked on global B2B sites selling to enterprise customers
- Can implement world class responsive designs across all browsers/devices using Figma design files and Lottie files
- Familiar working with QA devs on testing automation to ensure all pages perform flawlessly across all browsers/devices
- Solid understanding of development life cycle and modern Git workflows with tools like Netlify or Vercel
- Has experience working with & integrating APIs and microservices into front end applications
