Manager, Bank Partner Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Global Bank Partner Strategy & Operations Team is responsible for developing relationships that produce mutually beneficial results for Marqeta and our strategic bank partners. The Bank Partner Team plays a vital role to deliver Marqeta’s vision to the market. Key to this role will be understanding the banking landscape, the FinTech ecosystem, and an ability to align internal and external stakeholders toward a common goal.

In addition to working closely with our bank partners, you will be collaborating closely with the extended Marqeta team, including Business Development, Customer Success, Product, Compliance, Legal, Technology, among others.

Marqeta is looking for a Bank Partner Operations Manager who is a quick learner, can manage department workflow, and proactively identify and implement opportunities that drive efficiency. We seek a leader that collaborates cross-functionally to gain alignment as we focus on continual process improvement.

What You'll Do

This role is about optimizing the support provided by the Bank Partner team throughout Marqeta and with our external partners. The role requires a dynamic professional that is extremely detail-oriented and takes initiative to engage cross-functionally. You have an opportunity for tremendous impact as we scale the business. Key responsibilities include:

Partnerships:

  • Managing relationships with key Marqeta Partners, including prioritizing efforts and collaborating across teams
  • Ability to prioritize strategic partner initiatives with daily issues/escalations
  • Gathering, organizing and presenting KPI data on partners to provide Executive Leadership with clear pictures into relationship status and partnership value
  • Developing and driving new/improved processes, communication, and influence between Marqeta and our partners to enable efficiency

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Acting as a liaison between Marqeta teams with the intent to communicate or advance partner initiatives and requirements
  • Providing support and resourcing for team members in connection with bank operations 

General:

  • Driving cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure Marqeta is staying ahead in the industry and with our competition 
  • Updating and maintaining document repositories; assisting with training documentation for Project Management teams, Business Development, and Customer Success
  • Managing, combining and prioritizing support requests as assigned

What We're Looking For

In addition to the ability to drive process improvement and collaboration with internal teams, we’re looking for the following attributes:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous Account Management and/or Partnership Management experience
  • 2-5 years payments experience is a plus
  • Ownership/accountability for assigned tasks, an “ownership” mentality
  • Ability to prioritize with direction, manage and deliver on multiple projects; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive timelines
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality deliverables
  • Clear and concise communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written)
  • Ability to travel occasionally, less than 10%
